Lucky Orphans Horse Rescue | Founded 2008
Lucky Orphans is an upstate New York sanctuary dedicated to providing lifelong care for more than 40 rescued horses. Founded by lifelong horse advocate Deanna Hearn, the sanctuary reflects her belief that every horse deserves the opportunity to live with safety, companionship, and respect.
The horses live in social herds where they can build relationships, make choices, and engage in the natural behaviors that are essential to their wellbeing. Visitors have the opportunity to experience these remarkable animals in a peaceful setting, learn their individual stories, and witness the profound impact that safety, autonomy, and meaningful social connection can have on a horse’s life.
